Oneremit – Cross-Border Payments Platform Architecture & Business Analysis

Description

This project focused on preparing a complete business analysis, system architecture, and technical documentation package for Oneremit, a cross-border payments platform designed to support international money movement for both business and individual users. The project was handled as a confidential fintech engagement, so the portfolio description presents the work at a controlled level without exposing sensitive operational or commercial details.

The platform concept focused on enabling users to register, verify their accounts, fund wallets, view balances, generate FX quotes, select beneficiaries, initiate transfers, and track transaction outcomes. The system was designed around a compliance-first model where users complete identity or business verification before accessing regulated payment features. The documentation also covered transaction screening, compliance holds, settlement status updates, wallet and ledger behaviour, and asynchronous processing of deposits and transfers.

A major part of the work involved defining the user-facing and backend workflows for onboarding, OTP verification, account authentication, KYC/KYB checks, deposit flows, stablecoin-supported funding paths, wallet balance management, FX quote generation, outbound transfers, transaction screening, and settlement routing. The system design also considered third-party integration points for identity verification, banking rails, stablecoin rails, payment providers, authentication services, and database-backed transaction records.

The deliverables included use case descriptions, fully dressed use cases, user journeys, user stories, acceptance criteria, activity diagrams, sequence diagrams, architecture diagrams, class diagrams, component diagrams, deployment diagrams, ER diagrams, and use case diagrams. These materials helped translate the fintech product idea into a structured technical blueprint that could be understood by business stakeholders, developers, architects, compliance teams, and implementation partners.

Key Contributions & Strategic Impact

Hussnain Ali Hamza contributed by converting the confidential fintech concept into a structured business and system design package. The work clarified how users move from registration to verification, how wallets and balances are represented, how deposits and transfers are initiated, how compliance checks are applied, how settlement providers are integrated, and how transaction status is updated across the platform. The strategic impact was the creation of a development-ready documentation foundation that supported clearer implementation planning, reduced ambiguity, and aligned product, compliance, and technical stakeholders around a shared system model.

Key Points

  • Prepared confidential fintech documentation for a cross-border payments platform.
  • Defined user registration, OTP verification, sign-in, sign-out, and account verification use cases.

  • Created send-money workflows covering wallet selection, beneficiary selection, FX quote generation, payment confirmation, compliance screening, provider routing, and transfer status updates.
  • Prepared business analysis deliverables including use cases, user journeys, user stories, acceptance criteria, and business rules.
  • Produced technical diagrams including activity diagrams, sequence diagrams, architecture diagram, class diagram, component diagram, deployment diagram, ER diagram, and use case diagram.
  • Addressed asynchronous processing for deposits, settlement, compliance review, and transaction status updates.
  • Supported fintech architecture planning with external service integrations, database structure, wallet/ledger logic, authentication, compliance controls, and provider-based settlement routing.

Strategic Value Summary

This project delivered a complete confidential business analysis and architecture foundation for a fintech cross-border payments platform. By combining user journeys, use cases, system modelling, transaction workflows, compliance logic, wallet architecture, settlement routing, and technical diagrams, the project created a clear implementation blueprint for a secure, compliant, and scalable money movement platform.
